Tru Ruts/Speakeasy Records presents, AMERICA, the provacative new single by spoken word innovator and historian, E.G. BAILEY. Following in the tradition of Whitman, Ginsberg, Baraka and others, Bailey explores a post 911 America. With a haunting jazz score by the maverick ensemble ABSTRAKT COLLISION, based in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), the track addresses many of the issues confronting Americans today, from the war in Iraq and the new McCarthyism to the economic fallout and the Guantanamo, while looking towards hope and change. The companion track, THE LAST POET, also featuring Abstrakt Collision, along with spoken word artist MADAME MIMI, transcribes the Beat vision of the last poet at the edge of the horizon. The single will be released on November 4th, Election Day. AMERICA is from E.G. BAILEY's upcoming album AMERICAN AFRIKAN.
